The NB-100E features four LoRa radio channels operating in the UHF band using spread spectrum techniques. This technique serves various purposes, including enhancing secure communications, boosting resistance to interference, noise, and jamming, preventing detection, restricting power flux density (e.g., in satellite downlinks), and enabling multiple-access communications. LoRa, short for "long-range," is a proprietary radio communication technique. It utilizes spread spectrum modulation techniques derived from chirp spread spectrum.

The NB-100E is built to provide passive protection, prevent contamination, and mitigate various risks, such as hazardous chemicals and violent assaults. Its sturdy construction features a reinforced heavy-duty plastic face shield that meets the CE EN136 standard for impact strength. The NB-100E comes with the Defense N-B-1 filter. The Defense N-B-1 Filter is capable of withstanding environments with oxygen levels as low as 19%.
